European County GAA Committee and Club Twinning 2015-10-29 00:11:00

The European County Committee has asked Central Council to facilitate the twinning of clubs within its jurisdiction with clubs in Ireland and have outlined some of the goals of such twinning arrangements as follows:

Potential challenge/friendly matches between twinned clubs (including at youth level where feasible)

Sharing of experiences and knowledge in relation to:

Public Relations

Fundraising and sponsorship

Best practices on training and development

Exchanging of views on club structures and best practices

Discovering new and refreshing ways of playing, thinking and developing Gaelic Games both in Ireland and in Europe

Helping to spread the word and allowing clubs take part in the development of the GAA both inside and outside of Ireland

Generating interest in, and increasing the reputation of our Games

Developing language and cultural aspects of both club

I will appreciate if you will assist the European Board in this initiative and ask clubs that are interested in developing such twinning partnerships to contact, in the first instance, the Secretary of the European County Committee, Marie Thérese Dockery (email:; Tel.  00 352 691 242 768)
