Cork GAA Strategic Plan 2016-2018 - Games Review Framework 2015-10-26 18:30:00

As part of the Cork GAA Strategic Planning process (2016-2018) currently underway, a working group on "Games" has been established with a view to formulating proposals aimed at maximising participation in our games and optimising playing standards at all age levels. 

The membership of this group is as follows: Conor Counihan, John Allen, Alan Quirke, Tom Kenny, Jim Woulfe, John Considine, Brian Cuthbert, Tracey Kennedy, County Vice-chairman and Kevin O’Donovan, County Coaching Officer. As part of its research, the working group will host a number of consultation meetings on competition structures, coaching and related issues. Meetings have already been held with officers from Rebel Óg, Sciath Na Scol, Cork PPS, Referees body, Development Squad Managers, County Coaching Committee and Rebel Óg Coaching GDAs. 

A discussion framework for all meetings is included below. All groups listed are advised to consult with their respective members where necessary in advance of upcoming meetings. 


Upcoming Club Player & Team Manager Consultation Meetings 

Meetings are not restricted to the divisions listed and all players are welcome to attend whichever venue they wish. 

Monday October 19th at Nemo Rangers GAA Complex 

Club players / managers (Seandún, Imokilly, Carrigdhoun), 7.30pm 

Thursday, October 29th at Páirc Uí Rinn 

County team managers, 7.30pm 

Current / Ex Cork players, 8.30pm 

Thursday November 5th; NOTE CHANGE OF DATE 

1. Club players / managers (Beara, Carbery, Muskerry), 7.30pm at Doheny GAA Pavilion, Dunmanway 

2. Club players / managers (Avondhu, Duhallow), 7.30pm at Mallow GAA Complex 

Additional consultation meetings with County Executive and clubs via their County Board delegates, Third Level institutions / players and other sporting organisations will be organised. 

Finally, submissions are also welcome from committees or individuals and can be emailed to the group at corkgamesgroup@gmail.com before Friday, October 30th.
