Congratulations to our latest County Champions, Castlehaven and Clyda Rovers!

County Senior Football Final

Castlehaven 0-16 Nemo Rangers 1-11

Castlehaven claimed the spoils in an entertaining County Senior Football Final at Páirc Uí Chaoimh today, putting together back-to-back titles in the process. Cork players, Brian Hurley, Damien Cahalane and Mark Collins shone for the West Cork side, who trailed by a point at half time, 1-8 to 0-11.

The first half had been neck-and-neck, and this continued into the second half, with the sides level after 43 minutes. However, Castlehaven then began to pull away, and while Nemo will rue a number of missed opportunities, their opposition finished stronger to claim the Andy Scannell Cup.

County Premier Intermediate Football Final

Clyda Rovers 0-13 Macroom 0-8

It proved to be fourth time lucky for Clyda Rovers, who put the disappointment of three County Final losses in a row in 2009, 2010 and 2011 behind them and were full value for their win today. They dominated the game from start to finishing, leading 0-7 to 0-4 at half time and finally going on to take the title with a five-point win.

Well done to all involved!!!
