Munster U12 Activity Days at County Grounds DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES THIS MONDAY

We are now requesting entries for the Munster U12 football and hurling blitzes at provincial venues. Team of 10-a-side. Panel of 10-20 players. Bantry, Tadhg MacCarthaigh, Kilmeen, Castlehaven and Donoughmore & Ballingeary (Muskerry) have already entered.If interested, please reply before July 1st, indicating first and second choice venues:

  • July 16th/17th Football at Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney;
  • July 23rd/24th Hurling at the Gaelic Grounds Limerick;
  • July 30th/31st Football at Pairc Ui Chaoimh, Cork;
  • August 7th/8th Hurling at Semple Stadium, Thurles.


Monster U8 Hurling at Clonakilty LAST SATURDAY

Last Saturday saw 30 U8 hurling teams from 20 clubs from Carbery and Carrigdhoun take to the field in Clonakilty for the latest of our Monster blitz series. Many thanks to all who attended and to the host club for the use of their fine facilities. There is now a break for the next two Saturdays. The programme resumes with U8 football in Dunmanway on Saturday, July 13th.
We are currently half-way through the 2013 Monster Blitz programme, which can be seen below:

Brian Hurley 'School Of Kicking' CONTINUES ON TONIGHT WEDNESDAY IN BANTRY

The Brian Hurley 'School of Kicking' continues on tonight, Wednesday in Bantry from 6-8pm with U13/14 footballers from the four surrounding clubs attending. James has been in contact with tonight's clubs in advance and all players on the age are welcome.

Over the next two months all of the clubs listed will be covered, as follows:

  • at Skibbereen: O'Donovan Rossa, Mizen Rovers, Gabriel Rangers, Ilen Rovers - COMPLETED
  • at Bantry: Bantry, St. Colums, Muintir Bhaire, Tadhg MacCarthaigh - TONIGHT WED, JUNE 26th
  • at Adrigole: Adrigole, Castletownbere, Glengarriff, Urhan, Garnish
  • at Dunmanway: Sam Maguires, Clann na nGael, St. Mary's, Diarmuid O Mathunas
  • at Leap: Kilmacabea, Castlehaven, Carbery Rangers, St. James

U13 WEST CORK Emerging Players 2013 Programme - STARTS NEXT WEEK

Next week will seeing the beginning of the 2013 Emerging Players Programme for U13 players IN Carbery and Beara (born 2000) starting on Wed, July 3rd for football and Friday, July 5th for football.  ALL PLAYERS BORN IN 2000 ARE WELCOME.
As can be seen from the programme of dates below, all interested players will be invited to 3 coaching sessions and 3 trial games with regional panels then chosen to receive further training and play at County blitzes. The Cork Rebel Og Academy U14 panels for 2014 will then be selected from such blitzes.
Players are asked to wear official club gear and jerseys to all sessions and to bring a note with player's name, club, d.o.b. and parental contact / mobile no.
Footballers from the East Carbery clubs listed below are asked to assemble at Clonakilty from 11am-1pm on July 3rd and July 10th: Clonakilty, Kilmeen, Ballinascarthy, Ol. Plunketts, Barryroe, Bandon, Newcestown, Kilbrittain, Argideen Rangers, Carbery Rangers, St. James, St. Mary's, Diarmuid O Mathunas.
Footballers from the West Carbery clubs listed below are asked to assemble at Skibbereen from 2-4pm on July 3rd and July 10th O'Donovan Rossa, Mizen Rovers, Gabriel Rangers, Ilen Rovers, Bantry, St. Colums, Muintir Bhaire, Tadhg MacCarthaigh, Sam Maguires, Clann na nGael, Kilmacabea, Castlehaven.

Footballers from the Beara clubs listed below will receive sessions from James McCarthy on dates to be arranged locally and will join their Carbery counterparts for the open trials on August 7th, 14th and 21st:Adrigole, Castletownbere, Glengarriff, Urhan, Garnish.

Hurlers from all Carbery clubs are asked to assemble at Clonakilty for the hurling equivalent from 11am-1pm on July 5th and July 12th:

Rebel Og Academy in full flow - THIS WEEK

Cork development squads from U14 to U17 in both hurling and football have a hectic programme of events at venues across the county. Last night saw wins for the U17 footballers, U16 hurlers and U15 hurlers over Tipperary, Kilkenny and Clare, respectively, with a number of West Cork players involved.

Lee Flag Programme Returns for 2013

Coiste Oiliúna are pleased to announce details of the LEE FLAG Club Accreditation Scheme for 2013. The scheme, originally established in 2010, has been re-launched to help Coiste Oiliúna and Coiste Chontae reward clubs who are engaging in coaching and games development best practice around the county. The basic premise behind the scheme is to encourage clubs to meet specific criteria which is designed to aid their development both on and off the pitch.
