Elite Coaching for Club Players

For any player in their chosen sport to excel they have to train at a level that equals and possibly surpasses the effort needed on the day of competition.

This is the same for hurling, unfortunately recreating match type situations in training can sometimes be hard to achieve.

To help players that are close to development squad standard but that are not on development squads, Coiste Oiliuna Chorcai has decided to run three sessions for these players in January. These sessions will be in the area of physical preparation, defending in contact situations and attacking in contact situations. Each session will be physically and mentally demanding and the standard of player attending these sessions needs to be high.

Former Cork senior hurling physical trainer Mark McManus, Cork minor coach Frank Flannery and Cork coaching officer Brendan O'Driscoll have been lined up to do the sessions to ensure that the players are receiving the best possible training.

These sessions will take place in Na Piarsaigh GAA Club Indoor AstroTurf on the 12th, 16th & 19th of January. The sessions on the 12th and 19th will be in the afternoon and the session on the 16th will be at night time.Times will be confirmed after the closing date once we know what numbers are attending.
A second session might be put on each of the dates above depending on demand.
Players to wear runners & tape bands on hurleys.

The cost of taking part in the session is €30 per player payable on the 1st day.
These sessions are for players born in 1996 & 1997.
Players on Cork Development 'Rebel Squads' are welcome to attend, however, the sessions are not open to players on the Cork A squads, i.e. those who attend week-long camps at CIT.
