Biography

A secondary school teacher from Kanturk, 2012 All-Star Anthony first played hurling at home with his family. He feels that every skill in hurling has its own importance, and would like to see a better structure in place for club fixtures. While he also plays football for his club, his favourite sport other than hurling is golf. His best hurling memories outside of playing involve watching his uncles and cousin playing for Limerick, while as a player, the highlights so far have been winning the Fitzgibbon Cup with UCC in 2009 and making his senior début for Cork. He considers Ben and Jerry O'Connor to be the best players he has ever seen, and if there was a transfer market in hurling, he would buy them for Kanturk! He considers the iphone to be the best invention ever, and in ten years' time, hopes to be a millionaire...
