A student at CIT, Lorcán first played hurling at home, hitting the ball off the wall and breaking many windows in the process! He cites his parents and team coaches as the strongest influences on his sporting career, and sees playing Munster Senior Hurling Championship with Cork as his greatest achievement to date. The player he most admires is Brian Corcoran, for his level of commitment to club and county. His favourite sporting event of all time was the 1999 All-Ireland Hurling Final when Cork defeated Kilkenny. Lorcán's typical training week involves training on Tuesdays and Thursdays with a match at the weekend and alley or gym sessions in between. His best hurling memory as a player was winning the All-Ireland Vocationals Schools Hurling with Coláiste Treasa, Kanturk, and if there was a transfer market in hurling, he would buy Tommy Walsh.
He likes to relax by swimming and playing table tennis, and his dream dinner party guests would be Barack Obama, Muhammed Ali, his girlfriend, Karen and Stephen Mc Donnell for entertainment! In ten years' time, he hopes to be successful in his sporting and working careers.
