A student from the Tracton club based in Minane Bridge, Michael first played hurling in the back garden when he was five. He considers fielding and striking to be the most important skills in hurling, and there's nothing he would change about the game. His best hurling memory outside of playing is Cork's win over Kilkenny in the 2004 All-Ireland Final, and as a player the highlight has been beating Tipperary in the 2011 Munster U21 Semi-Final. Brian Corcoran is the greatest player he has ever seen, and if there was a transfer market in hurling, he would buy Joe Canning. His toughest opponent has been Cork team-mate Shane O'Neill, and he also enjoys American Football, golf and snooker. As a child, Michael wanted to be Stone Cold Steve Austin, and he considers electricity to be the best invention ever. In ten years' time he hopes to be mature!!
