A student at UCC, Rob first played hurling in Carrigaline GAA Street Leagues at the age of 6. The best advice he was given was to set high standards and keep raising them. He considers first touch to be the most important skill in hurling, and if he could change anything about the game, he would like to see two points awarded for scores from outside your own half. His best hurling memory outside of playing is watching Cork win the All Ireland in 2004, while as a player, winning the Fresher All-Ireland Championship with UCC in 2013 has been the highlight so far. Ben O'Connor is the greatest player he has ever seen, and if there was a transfer market in hurling, he'd like to bring Stephen White to Carrigaline! He also enjoys playing squash, and as a child wanted to be The Rock. He considers Twitter to be the best invention ever, and in ten years' time, hopes to be successful in hurling and in life.
