Traffic Arrangements/Parking in Semple Stadium, next Sunday   09/03/2018

See below traffic arrangements in place for next Sunday's Allianz Leagues double header in Semple Stadium, Thurles.

Car Parks for the Allianz football and hurling leagues in Semple Stadium on Sunday next March 11th are as follows;

LIT Thurles, Thurles Greyhound Stadium, VEC grounds (all within close proximity to Semple Stadium), Steve Smee's Field Holycross Rd., Parnell St. Car Park, Liberty Square Car Park, St. Patrick's College, Cathedral St., Munster Hotel Car Park also on Cathedral St.

Patrons are again asked to please park responsibly.

The Gardaí will have road blocks in two places in Bohernanave, just above the Greyhound Stadium and at the entrance across from the Railway Station on the Holycross Road.
There will be another road block at the Lidl roundabout also on the Holycross Road.

Patrons parking illegally may be issued with fines which will be sent by post within four weeks.

Also, there are traffic restrictions on the Suir Bridge due to bridge improvement works on the way into Thurles where traffic is reduced to a single lane with traffic lights in operation.

Traffic from the north can exit the M8 motorway at junction 5 Thurles/Two-Mile-Borris and will encounter these roadworks which are on Cathedral Street so patrons can use the car parks mentioned (St. Patrick's College or Munster Hotel) on the way into Thurles town centre if they so desire or continue on to use parking in Liberty Square or any of the other car parks mentioned.
Semple Stadium is about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the Suir bridge.

Alternatively traffic can also travel further on the M8 to junction 6 Thurles/Horse & Jockey exit and will  encounter Cork traffic from the south which will be arriving for the hurling match.

Safe travelling to and from Thurles on Sunday to all supporters, please follow the instructions of An Garda Síochána so everyone can have an enjoyable day.
