Na Piarsaigh Hurling Club from February 26th to March 1st

Arrangements for the Finals

-Schools should make note of the day and time for their particular final.

-Teams are requested to be at the venue before their allocated start time.

-Format For Finals (with the exception of Camogie League)

-A draw will take place on the morning of the Final for the fixtures. 2 Semi-Finals will take place. The teams defeated in the Semi-Finals will then play each other in the 3rd/4th place playoff. The winners of the Semi-Finals will contest the Final.

-Camogie League Format

-All teams will play each other with the top 2 teams contesting the Final. All these games will be 5 minute duration without a half time break. Should 2 teams be tied at the end of the group games, the result between these teams shall dictate who qualifies for the Final. If this does not break the tie, then a “Golden Goal” shall apply whereby the first team to score wins.

-The matches for the Finals will be 8 players a side. The 2 subs and 1 teacher will be allowed to stand at the side of the hall inside the arena. All other panel members, teachers/supporters must remain outside the playing area during the match.

-Each team will be presented with 10 medals. If additional medals are required for additional panel members, they must be paid for on the morning costing €5 each.

-We request that, due to space limitations, schools bring no more than 10 child supporters to the Finals.

-The admission for adults is €5 and this fee will include a souvenir programme. This money is payable at the venue on the day.

-Refreshments will be available to buy at the venue on the day.

Indoor Finals Rules

  1. Each game is to be 12-minute duration (6 min a side) with no more than one minute for half time. Time to be added on for stoppages and injuries is at the referee’s discretion.
  2. Indoor hurleys (timber with rubber bas) and indoor sliotars (perforated type) to be used.
  3. All games for the Finals will be 8 players a side.
  4. Substitutions can be made at any time during the game. Changes should be made promptly for fairness.
  5. Side walls and back walls are in play at all times.
  6. Puck outs to be taken 5 paces from the centre of the goal.
  7. All players must stand at least 10 paces away from where a free or puck out is being taken.
  8. Players may not score directly from a puck out (however a goal will stand if the sliotar touches any player and crosses the goal line from a puck out)
  9. An outfield player may not intentionally kick, block or stop the sliotar with his foot.
  10. A goalkeeper may kick, block or stop the sliotar with his foot intentionally. He/she may also use his hand to stop the sliotar but is not permitted to catch or pick up the sliotar. Therefore, the goalkeeper needs to be wearing a different coloured jersey/bib.
  11. A player may strike, volley or bat the sliotar when it is in the air.
  12. A sliotar may be flicked but not roll picked or jab picked.
  13. No lifting, soloing, or catching the sliotar
  14. In the event that a game ends in a draw at full time, the golden goal rule will apply (i.e. First team to score wins), with a maximum of 5 minutes for this to happen. In the event of no team scoring in this 5-minute period the game goes to penalties. Each team gets 3 penalties initially and if there is no outcome sudden death will apply.
