Busy Year Ahead for Páirc Uí Chaoimh   18/01/2018

Press Release
Thursday January 18th

Páirc Uí Chaoimh is looking forward to a bumper 2018 which will include some first class Gaelic games, national and international conferences and a series of sell out concerts by Ed Sheeran.

Spectator access to the Stadium for major games and events is to be considerably enhanced by a new Bus Eireann dedicated shuttle bus service, from Lapps Quay to the Link Road near Páirc Uí Chaoimh, just a 3 minute walk from the ground.

There is good news too for visitors to the stadium and walkers of the Marina and the Atlantic Pond, according to Bob Ryan Stadium Operations Manager,  “In early Spring, we will open a new café -Café at the Páirc- overlooking the impressive 4G pitch”.

The National League campaign will kick off with a double header on January 27th with both the Cork footballers and Cork hurlers making their competitive debut in the new stadium. The footballers will take on Tipperary at 5pm, while the hurlers will meet old foes Kilkenny at 7pm. A large crowd is expected and tickets are available currently on http://corkgaa.tickets.ie/ or www.tickets.ie or from participating Centra/Supervalu stores.

“The advice as always is for spectators to park in the city centre and either walk to the stadium or use the new Bus Eireann shuttle bus service from Lapps Quay to the Link Road near Suttons Coal”, said Bob Ryan.  “Q-Park are offering spectators a special discounted rate when booking on line for City Hall, Carrroll’s Quay and St. Finbarr’s Car Parks. All event information will be carried on a revamped Páirc Uí Chaoimh website www.paircuichaoimh.ie”

Páirc Uí Chaoimh is extending the Premium Ticket Scheme to include a three and five year ticket offer alongside the existing ten year Premium ticket.  The Premium level offers exceptional comfort for all patrons with four bars and a 400 seat restaurant available for all events.  Benefits include your Premium seat for all GAA matches and the option to purchase tickets in your seat for all concerts held in the stadium. Avid GAA fans can also use their premium cards for free entry to all adult grade Cork county championship matches played anywhere in the county.

Cork County Board Chairperson, Tracey Kennedy, welcomed the latest developments, saying "2018 will be our first full year in the new stadium, and we welcome the enhanced experience it will provide to our own patrons, residents and visitors to the local area, along with the significant boost to the wider Cork economy which can be expected as a result of the Ed Sheeran concerts and the big-match days in Páirc Uí Chaoimh."
