Lecture on the Design & Construction of Páirc Uí Chaoimh   21/11/2017

The structural design and construction considerations behind the spectacular €80 million redevelopment of Páirc Uí Chaoimh will be outlined in this lecture. The 45,000 capacity stadium redevelopment includes a new 13,000 capacity three tier reinforced concrete South Stand complete with a 40m cantilever feature steel roof. The North Stand is a single tier stand with a 25m cantilever roof which accommodates 8,000 spectators and associated facilities.

In this lecture, Mr. Sean Breen, Chartered Engineer, Malachy Walsh and Partners, will outline the challenges faced by the design and construction teams in the delivery of this fantastic facility which hosted its first inter-county hurling and football championship games in the Summer of 2017.

This is a joint event between The Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), The Irish Concrete Society and Engineers Ireland Cork Region. The event is open to the public.

Tea & Coffee from 6.30pm; Lecture starts at 7pm
